The BYU Cougars took care of business against the Arizona Wildcats with a 28-17 win on Saturday. This was the first week Kalani Sitake's team moved up in the rankings.

BYU slid down one spot after blowing out Utah Tech to open the season. But being able to get a quality win over a Big 12 Conference foe did more from a national perspective. The Cougars shot up four spots to No. 11 after the second week of the regular season in Sunday's AP Top 25 Poll.

BYU used a strong second half to earn the win over Arizona in Provo. Bear Bachmeier accounted for all four touchdowns. He set up his final score with a 61-yard pass to receiver Legend Glasker, which became a nice addition to his highlight reel. The Cougars are now the Big 12's highest ranked team.

They're two spots ahead of No. 13 Texas Tech, who struggled to fend off Oregon State before putting them away in the fourth quarter. The Red Raiders have consistency issues they'll need to address before Big 12 play.

Utah rolled past Arkansas in a 43-10 blowout Saturday. The Utes put together a great game plan against the SEC opponent and executed with Devon Dampier and Wayshawn Parker stealing the show. The duo accounted for five touchdowns, and the offense as a whole put up 442 yards of total offense and dominated both lines of scrimmage. The performance pushed Utah up three spots to No. 17.

The last ranked conference team is No. 22 Houston. The Cougars are shaping up to be a legit threat for the first time in Willie Fritz's tenure down south.

As for the national scene, Texas is the new No. 1 team in the nation. Arch Manning led the Longhorns to an improbable fourth quarter comeback to secure a 24-23 win over Ohio State. The Buckeyes fell to No. 6 in Sunday’s poll. Oregon suffered the biggest drop of the week after being upset by Oklahoma State. Dan Lanning's Ducks had problems in the close win over Boise State in the opening week. The encore featured a tough loss to the Pokes and falling 15 spots in the poll.
