Until you put pen to paper, the recruiting never stops.

According to Tom Loy of 247Sports, the Alabama Crimson Tide are bringing in 2027 Texas commit Junior Tu’upo this weekend for a visit.

Following Loy’s report, 247’s Brett Greenberg believes that this won’t be Tu’upo’s final visit to Tuscaloosa.

Tu’upo, an Alabaster, AL native, committed to Texas on June 26 after going on an official visit from June 19-21.

It was believed that Alabama was a favorite for Tu’upo’s commitment, until the Longhorns came in at the eleventh hour to swoop him in.

However, Alabama's pursuit of Tu’upo clearly isn't over.

Not only is he an Alabaster native, but he also has a connection with current 2027 commit and quarterback Trent Seaborn. On top of that, the Tide currently don't have a committed safety in the 2027 class.

The 2027 class hasn't gone according to plan for the Tide, but Alabama is still working to make up ground.

Over this offseason, Alabama lost out on notable recruits such as Tu’upo, Hayden Stepp, Mitchell Turner, Kenneth Simon, Colt Lumpris, and Monshun Sales.

But the Tide clearly aren't ready to move on from Tu’upo.

A player like Tu’upo may be too enticing for Alabama to pass up. Not only can he play special teams effectively, his tenacity will end up being his calling card.

247’s scout, Gabe Brooks wrote that Tu’upo has “the length of a modern corner with the tackling production and willingness of a safety.”

Sounds like music to Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack’s ears.

By next season, Alabama could be rolling out a mostly new secondary. Bray Hubbard, Zabien Brown, and Keon Sabb will be NFL-bound with Dijon Lee and Red Morgan being the elder statesmen in the DB room.

The Tide have done a solid job at building their pipeline in the secondary, by adding players like Ivan Taylor, Jireh Edwards, Jorden Edmonds, and Zyan Gibson. But adding a player like Tu’upo to the room will only be an added bonus.

For now, Tu’upo remains committed to Texas.

But with Alabama getting him back to Tuscaloosa this weekend — and potentially bringing him back again — the Tide clearly aren't giving up on one of their top safety targets.
