The Washington Huskies football team wrapped up its nonconference schedule with a 48-16 win against the Eastern Washington Eagles on Sept. 19 at Husky Stadium.

The Huskies played three non-Big Ten games and between its game against Eastern Washington and the start of its conference slate, which is set to take place against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at 8 p.m. PT on Saturday at Husky Stadium in Seattle, the university scheduled its first nonconference game for 2033.

According to a post on "X" from Brett McMurphy of On3 Sports, Washington will play San Jose State at Husky Stadium.

In the current alignment of conferences, the game against the Spartans will be a Power Four vs. Group of Six game. San Jose State currently competes in the Mountain West conference.

The Huskies played two games this season against Group of Six opponents: the Washington State Cougars and Utah State Aggies.

Based on fbschedules.com, Washington has all three nonconference games scheduled through 2028.

In 2027, the Huskies will play the Fresno State Bulldogs, Portland State Vikings and Washington State. The game against WSU will be at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Wash.

In 2028, Washington will play Eastern Washington, the UNLV Rebels. All three games will be at Husky Stadium.

The Huskies have two games scheduled each year in 2029 and 2030.

In 2029. Washington is scheduled to play the Tennessee Volunteers at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. UW will also host the Boise State Broncos at Husky Stadium.

In 2030, the Huskies will host the Volunteers and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Husky Stadium. UW is yet to schedule nonconference games in 2031 and 2032, per fbschedules.com.

Even though these games are currently on the schedule, many Power Four teams have opted to exit scheduled games, particularly against other FBS or other Power Four programs in efforts to schedule easier nonconference opponents as to not suffer early losses in the 12-team College Football Playoff.

As for Washington specifically, there's still a question whether one of the longest-running rivalries in college football will continue.

The contract annual game between UW and Washington State, known as the Apple Cup, is set to expire after the '28 matchup between the two teams. The game has been played 118 times since its inception in 1900.

The future of the game has been in question since the Huskies moved from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten. The Cougars remained in the conference with the Oregon State Beavers while the conference was rebuilt. The two programs were the lone teams from the previous 12-team version of the conference not to move to either the Big Ten, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) or the Big 12.
