Texas Tech football is building something impressive on the recruiting trail, and the Red Raiders' 2027 commitments are doing plenty to justify the excitement.
With high school football entering the heart of October, several future Red Raiders are putting together remarkable seasons.

Texas Tech's 2027 recruiting class sits ninth nationally in the Rivals Industry Team Rankings, positioning head coach Joey McGuire to potentially deliver one of the program's most impressive recruiting hauls.
And one commitment is making a particularly strong argument that recruiting analysts haven't rated him highly enough.
Four-star defensive back Gideon Gash, a 6-4, 205-pound standout from Detroit Catholic Central, has been an absolute nightmare for opposing teams.
Through six games, Gash has produced 12 total touchdowns, including two interception returns for scores, while accumulating 816 all-purpose yards and 376 receiving yards.
He's also recorded five punt-return touchdowns, establishing a Michigan high school record.
Those aren't ordinary numbers for a defensive back. They're the kind of numbers that make a legitimate case for five-star consideration.
Gash committed to Texas Tech in June over offers from Alabama, Michigan State and Oklahoma. Despite continued interest from other programs, he remains committed to the Red Raiders.
His original decision reflected his confidence in Texas Tech's defensive development.
“I just see they were a super dominant defense this past year,” Gash said when discussing the program's appeal.
The offensive commitments aren't exactly sitting around, either.
Palestine Westwood quarterback Kavian Bryant delivered one of the season's most explosive performances against Timpson, completing 14 of 18 passes for 385 yards and five touchdowns.
He added 111 rushing yards and two more scores, earning Class 3A Built Ford Tough Player of the Week recognition.
At DeSoto, running back SaRod Baker has demonstrated his versatility while producing 639 rushing yards and nine touchdowns through five games.
He's averaging 6.7 yards per carry despite occasionally handling quarterback responsibilities.
But the foundation of McGuire's recruiting class remains its defensive talent.
Five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Rankings, headlines the group after transferring from Cedar Hill to Buford High School in Georgia.
He's joined by five-star edge rusher Anthony Sweeney of Baltimore's St. Frances Academy, giving Texas Tech two highly regarded defensive prospects capable of making an early impact.
The challenge now is protecting those commitments.
With the December signing period approaching, major programs will continue pursuing elite prospects, particularly players such as Brewster and Gash.
For McGuire, the opportunity is enormous.
Texas Tech has already demonstrated it can compete for nationally coveted recruits.

Now the Red Raiders have an opportunity to finish with a top-five class and establish themselves as a serious long-term recruiting power.
And judging by what their future players are doing on Friday nights, there's plenty of reason for optimism.
