Texas A&M's 2028 recruiting class features commitments from five-star quarterback Donald Tabron and four-star Edge Chance Archangel, while third-year coach Mike Elko and his staff have fully utilized all three of the Aggies' home games through the first five weeks to host a long list of priority prospects in the cycle, including four-star wide receiver Kyrin Armelin.
Under first-year offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins, Texas A&M's offense has been a work in progress, while his background as one of the top wide receiver coaches in the country continues to pay off on the recruiting trail even in his new role, focused on landing top receiver prospects in Texas, Georgia, and Florida, where the Aggies have dominated.
Out of Kerrville Tivy, where former Texas A&M star quarterback and the program's second Heisman winner Johnny Manziel starred before making his way to College Station, Kyrin Armelin is certainly a prospect on the rise given his lack of early offers, but he has already received substantial interest from several SEC programs, including Texas A&M.
The Aggies are looking to land Kyrin and his brother, Kenyon, who is also a wide receiver at Kerrville Tivy, and according to Rivals recruiting insider Sam Spiegelman, Texas A&M has a 65% chance at Kyrin Armelin, while Oklahoma looks like the biggest threat.
"Rivals300 WR Kyrin Armelin has made visits out to Texas and to Texas A&M already this fall. Oklahoma and Texas Tech have extended offers and are in the mix. The Aggies have the in-state four-star prospect’s attention and are setting the pace in this recruitment early on. Armelin and his brother raved about their time in College Station last month."
After loading up at wide receiver in the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, Elko and Wiggins will look secure commitments from at least three receivers in the 2028 cycle.
