The Texas football team was able to bounce back on Saturday from a recent loss against Florida. Texas defeated Ole Miss on Saturday, 34-27, to get back in the win column. Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian was not pleased with fans of his team who bailed following that loss to Florida.
“Those fans who sold their tickets, they missed a hell of a game tonight,” Sarkisian said after the Ole Miss win, per On3.

The Texas football team improved to 5-2 on the season with the win. The Longhorns got a strong performance from quarterback Arch Manning, who passed for 212 yards.
“One thing I know about Arch Manning is he’s a fighter. I like the kind of edgy, borderline arrogant, full of swagger Arch,” Sarkisian said about Manning, per On3.
Sarkisian says Manning’s leadership is invaluable for this Texas squad. With this victory, the Longhorns kept alive their chances of making it into the College Football Playoff.
“As much or more than anything, his resolve, his grit, his mentality was important for the team,” Sarkisian said, per On3.
It wasn’t all peaches and cream for Texas. Despite taking a big lead into the locker room at halftime, the Texas offense struggled to start the second half. The Longhorns were held scoreless in the third quarter.
The Longhorns also racked up penalties and turnovers, but still managed to win a key SEC contest.
“I would be the first one to tell you we were not perfect tonight,” Sarkisian said, per the Associated Press. “We had an opportunity to be closer to perfect, but we get sack, fumble, they get a touchdown, they get momentum.”
The Longhorns are now 2-2 in the SEC. Texas next plays Mississippi State on Saturday.
