Social media reacts to Texas A&M's 17-9 loss to South Carolina

Texas A&M football's offensive struggles continued Saturday as the Aggies fell 17-9 to No. 21 South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium, failing to score a touchdown for the third time in SEC play this season.

The loss dropped Texas A&M to 4-5 overall and 1-5 in conference play, leaving the Aggies needing two victories in their final three games to become bowl eligible. Despite another disappointing offensive performance, Texas A&M had opportunities to pull off the road upset. The Aggies entered the fourth quarter leading 9-7 behind three field goals from kicker David Olano.

However, South Carolina scored 10 unanswered points in the final quarter, including a 41-yard touchdown run from quarterback LaNorris Sellers, to secure the victory. Quarterback Marcel Reed completed 25 of 43 passes for 251 yards, while running back Rueben Owens II rushed for 137 yards on 19 carries. Despite moving the football, the Aggies couldn't finish drives in the end zone.

Texas A&M's defense kept the game competitive, but the offense's continued struggles ultimately proved costly. With another SEC loss and the team's postseason hopes hanging in the balance, frustration surrounding head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies continued to grow across social media.

Here's how the internet reacted to Texas A&M's loss to South Carolina.

With the game on the line, Reed doesn't come close

Texas A&M had two final looks at the end-zone to finish the game, and Marcel Reed was unable to put either pass in the field of play.
Very curious to see what Mike Elko has to say about his starting quarterback post-game.

There is a good chance the Aggies do not win another game this season

The last two plays of the game pretty much sum up the 2026 season

Texas A&M having two cracks at the end zone from the 10 yard line with the game on the line and Marcel Reed not being able to throw a single catchable ball tells you all you need to know about this Texas A&M season.

The offense has to look different to close out the season

Has to be change at Offense. This is absurd

A&M has been horrible on offense against ranked teams

Texas A&M has now lost their last 6 games against ranked opponents.
The Aggies had the lead or were tied in the 3rd quarter in 4 of those 6 losses.

The stat sheet says A&M should have won the game

Nearly 100 more total yards and lose by a TD. Win the turnover battle. How? Just how? pic.twitter.com/k1vIsysVpj

Changes need to happen at this point

It’s quite unbelievable how little change there is game to game with this team. Massive change needs to happen and fast

This can't happen

A&M offense today:
457 yards
26 first downs
Zero turnovers...
...9 points 😵‍💫

Being a Texas A&M football fan is tough right now

Frustrating is the nicest way to put it

I’m more exhausted by today’s loss than I thought I’d be.
A maddening confluence of self-inflicted errors, erratic execution, perplexing decisions, and squandered chances.
A frustrating season-long exhibition of marksmanship, with their own feet perpetually in the crosshairs. https://t.co/FcQc1a3vDW
