Week 5 of the 2026 college football season is in the books, and it’s time to evaluate all of those results and rank all 138 teams in the nation. Texas and Georgia remain the top two teams in this week’s rankings, with Notre Dame, Indiana, Ohio State, Miami and Alabama rounding out the next tier. The Crimson Tide jumped to No. 7 following their win at Mississippi State, with BYU (No. 10) and Missouri (No. 14) also on the move up.

Michigan (No. 37), Penn State (No. 46) and Louisville (No. 55) are among the teams on the decline in the rankings following Week 5 losses.

Boise State, Memphis, James Madison, Western Michigan, New Mexico, Fresno State, UTSA and North Dakota State headline the highest-ranked Group of 6 teams after Week 5.
