It was another epic weekend of college footballthat saw seven ranked matchups throughout the day. Some of the big games came down to the wire, like BYU-Utah and Miami-Notre Dame. Both the Utes and Irish were able to hang on at home and that’s clearly going to shake up the College Football Playoff rankings.
But those aren’t the only two games that will. After getting a pleasant No. 5 ranking, Alabama stunned LSU in Death Valley and sunk the Tigers, and likely their hope of making the playoff. Same goes with Ohio State, which got blasted at home against Oregon. But the Ducks remain alive with a favorable schedule to end the season.
Texas also remains well alive after it took down Missouri. Arch Manning threw three touchdown passes in the win, and the Longhorns suddenly look like a playoff team. Another team that looks like a playoff team is Tennessee after it blasted Kentucky, 34-6.
Each week the playoff rankings are going to get shifted with all the parity in football, and this week was no different.
Here’s how we think the playoff field will look. Reminder: there has to be one Group of Six team in the field.
