Ole Miss suffered its second loss of the 2026 college football season on Saturday.
Texas led 24-3 at one point before Ole Miss rallied to tie early in the fourth quarter. However, Texas did enough for the rest of the game and held on to win 34-27. Both teams are now 5-2 going into their next games.

Speaking of that, the Rebels won’t have one of their best players for this Saturday’s game against the Auburn Tigers. Rebels head coach Pete Golding announced on Monday that running back Kewan Lacy will miss the game with a dislocated shoulder.

Lacy played against the Longhorns on Saturday, but was limited to 18 carries for 36 yards and no touchdowns. He’s been good this season, compiling 78 carries for 388 yards and five touchdowns.
Who will step up in place of Kewan Lacy?

Makhi Frazier is next up on the depth chart and has been solid this year with 51 carries for 301 yards.
Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is third on the team in rushing yards and also has six touchdowns. He might have to be even more of a threat on the ground with Lacy out.
It will take a team effort to replace Lacy, and the Rebels will try to do that on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. ET.
