The injury report industrial complex is churning on Wednesday ahead of the official SEC-mandated player availability report the conference will release this evening.

As the No. 7 Texas Longhorns prepare to host the Florida Gators on Saturday in Austin, there is good news on both sides, but a potential looming issue for head coach Jon Sumrall’s team with reports emerging that quarterback Aaron Philo will be listed as questionable due to the shoulder injury he sustained last week against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

According to CBS Sports, Philo’s practice availability has been limited, setting up the possibility that Tramell Jones could receive his first start against the Longhorns this weekend.

A consensus four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class out of Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin, Jones redshirted last season before seeing action in four games this season. The 6’0, 196-pounder is 23-of-29 passing (79.3 percent) for 252 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, although Pro Football Focus only classified one of those interceptions as a turnover-worthy throw.

If Jones does get the start, he’ll likely have star wide receiver Vernell Brown III available after practicing on Wednesday. Brown hasn’t played in the last two games.

For Texas, the defensive front may receive a boost against Florida with the return of sophomore defensive lineman Justus Terry, who has missed the last four games after sustaining a toe injury in pregame warmups before the win over Ohio State. According to Inside Texas, Terry practiced on Wednesday and is expected to be available on Saturday.
