MIAMI, Fla. – Ahead of Thursday's official commitment announcement, the Miami Hurricanes are among the final three in elite five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright's recruitment, according to Rivals.
The Florida Gators and Texas Longhorns are the other contenders.

The 6’4 210 WR is ranked as the No. 1 WR in the 2028 Rivals Industry Rankingshttps://t.co/53SLgiUqZXpic.twitter.com/7wxPTlBtEF— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) November 1, 2026
Wright is part of the 2028 high school cycle and has an estimated $1 million N.I.L. valuation. He is ranked third nationally, the best at both wide receiver and from the Sunshine State, according to 247Sports Composite. Wright received over 25 Power Four scholarship offers, including from Alabama, Oregon, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, and Ohio State, among others.
The Jacksonville (Fla.) native is currently attending Mandarin High School, a public insitution in Duval County. This season, Wright has caught 46 passes for 984 yards while scoring 11 touchdowns in 10 games, according to MaxPreps. He is teammates with Hurricanes 2028 commit and three-star quarterback Knox Annis.
In a game this season, both young Mandarin Mustangs offensive talents were throwing up "The U" while celebrating a touchdown.

As Wright prepares to make a public decision, the Hurricanes appear to be the frontrunners in the race. Rivals gives the Coral Gables program a 97.8 percent chance of landing a pledge from the highly touted skill player, keeping him close to home. Wright would be the Hurricanes' third commit from the 2028 recruiting class, alongside Annis and four-star offensive tackle Kweli Fielder from Carrollton High School in Carroll County, Georgia.
There's rumors about Wright potentially reclassifying to the 2027 recruiting class, like Hurricanes commit and five-star athlete A'Mir Sears did in late July. It would allow him to play college football sooner, especially alongside rising star Malachi Toney. Wright has yet to make any sort of transaction official. If he were to move up, the Hurricanes' 2027 recruiting class would strengthen among the elites.
Wright attended the 43-35 double-overtime win over the Florida State Seminoles at Hard Rock Stadium on Oct. 24.
The Hurricanes' 2027 recruiting is currently ranked fourth nationally with 20 commits, including five-star cornerback Donte Wright, five-star wide receiver Nick Lennear, and five-star edge rusher Jaden Bryant, among other young and promising talent.
It's a testament to Mario Cristobal turning the program around with a full year since the National Championship game against Indiana approaching.
The Hurricanes have a month before National Signing Day to solidify the 2027 freshman class, as Wright's commitment is soon to be announced.
Meanwhile, it's Notre Dame week.
