Skepticism has been abound lately as armchair analysts and Texas football fans everywhere ponder whether the program should keep the 2027 non-conference matchup versus Michigan on its schedule.

Their reasoning? Ask yourself this: had Texas scheduled a puff matchup win rather than Ohio State to start the 2025 regular season last year, would the Longhorns have eventually been left out of the College Football Playoff’s field of 12?

So, essentially, the skepticism about the scheduling decision is nonetheless righteous.

As it stands, it’s also still a full-go next season, according to Sarkisian’s recent comments.
