The Alabama Crimson Tide won’t have star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams for a second consecutive game when the program hosts the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday.
On3’s Pete Nakos reported Wednesday that Coleman-Williams is out as he’s still going through the recovery process from arthroscopic surgery.
“Alabama WR Ryan Coleman-Williams is out this week against Texas A&M as he continues to recover from arthroscopic surgery,” Nakos wrote on X.
Coleman-Williams missed last weekend’s 26-10 loss to Tennessee after dealing with knee and head injuries. ESPN reported on Saturday that the junior wideout underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after playing through a meniscus injury earlier this season.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer had left open the possibility of a return earlier in the week while discussing Coleman-Williams and other injured Alabama players, before Wednesday’s update closed that door for the Texas A&M matchup.
“Ryan is also, I mean, all these guys are kind of in the same area, the same window,” DeBoer said. “I would not expect them to be practicing all week alone, but we’ll kind of see as the week gets to the end, what that looks like.”
Coleman-Williams has 23 catches for 415 yards and four touchdowns through six games this season, averaging 18 yards per reception. His absence already left Alabama without one of its top offensive weapons in last weekend’s loss to Tennessee, marking the second consecutive Crimson Tide defeat after falling to Georgia a week earlier.

Alabama’s offense struggled without Coleman-Williams against the Volunteers, finishing with 201 total yards and failing to score in the second half.
After the loss, starting quarterback Keelon Russell made it clear that missing the wide receiver is not an excuse for the Crimson Tide not to produce on offense.
“We’re playing ball,” Russell said. “It’s not like we’re missing Jesus, and stuff like that. Just playing ball. Not playing with (Coleman-Williams) — we play with the same guys with practice. When Ryan isn’t in on one play, all the other guys are in.”
Alabama enters Week 8 at 5-2 overall and 3-2 in SEC play. The No. 13 Crimson Tide hosts Texas A&M on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
