Have you, like so very many, been yearning for an in-person Indiana football viewing experience, in Bloomington, that also involves reliable cell service?

Well, loyal fan, you just may be in luck.

Indiana Athletics announced a slew of gameday enhancements to Memorial Stadium ahead of the 2026 college football season. It’s to be expected, with the Hoosiers coming off of the first national championship in program history.

The upgrades include new gameday experience options with a limited number of fans being able to run onto the field with the team ahead of kickoff or simply line up in front of the entrance tunnel to greet the team and staff (and the running fans but that’s probably less exciting) as they do so. Additionally, some fans will be able to tour the football facilities and take the field for pregame warm-ups as well.

The south lawn of the Memorial Stadium grounds will transform into the new Indiana Football AAA Championship Tailgate, which will feature a 15-foot-tall College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy photo op, a double-decker outdoor bar, a stage for live music, food trucks, a kids zone and more.

As for the typical tailgating experience, new rules opening up season parking passes to fans indicate that tailgating must take place in either a grassy area or directly in front of or behind vehicles. Chairs, grills, coolers, tents and other tailgating hallmarks must stay within the width of a vehicle’s parking stall.

Hoosier the Bison is set to take the field in a new IndyCar ahead of his second season since his return to the sidelines. The car itself will make appearances during The Walk and Hoosier will lead the team onto the field ahead of kickoff.

Rally towels are also back, with towels for the 2026 season featuring individual Hoosiers each gameday. Isaiah Jones will be the featured player for the North Texas rally towels, which may be picked up as fans enter the stadium bowl. The classic spirit posters from artist and IU alumnus Jon Terzini are available in the west lobby of Assembly Hall, at IU Credit Union locations and stores around Bloomington including Homefield and The Indiana Shop.

Concessions have been upgraded with 42 additional points of sale throughout the stadium with stanchions to improve traffic flow. The new Coors Light Zone will also debut in the north concourse. The IU Team Store will operate a pop-up location on the stadium’s east side, supplementing the brick-and-mortar team store in Assembly Hall. Additionally, the restroom-going experience has been improved with 38 new portable restrooms around the concourse.

What you’ve been waiting for, the stadium will have enhanced wireless service infrastructure with a Cell on Wheels from AT&T to improve service, Verizon upgrading its network infrastructure around the venue and cellular antennas around the stadium receiving upgrades.

Last, and absolutely not least, the program is set to unveil signage commemorating the 2025 national championship during pregame festivities ahead of kickoff against North Texas on Saturday.
