The No. 19 Texas Longhorns continue their precipitous fall from grace through the first three games of conference play. An embarrassing loss to the Oklahoma Sooners spun into another embarrassing loss at home to the Florida Gators, a pair of unranked teams that Texas should have taken care of handily. Now, the road gets tougher and Texas has yet to show signs of life.

The toughest stretch of SEC play for the Longhorns kicks off Saturday with a visit from the No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels and one of the most dynamic players in the country. New head coach Pete Golding won the offseason early by keeping quarterback Trinidad Chambliss in Oxford, who paces an offense led by an elite running back in Kewan Lacy and a group of talented pass catchers. Chambliss has been everything Texas fans hoped Arch Manning would be: catalytic in the passing game, elusive with his feet, and ultimately a winner in big spots. When it was winning time against former head coach Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers, Chambliss was at his best. When they faced off against outmatched opponents, he and the offense bullied them all over the field.

The Longhorns will be without their best player as the Rebels’ offense comes to town, with Colin Simmons ruled out due to an ankle injury suffered against Florida. Do the Longhorns have answers on either side of the ball to avoid a three-game losing streak?
