How former Florida State transfers performed in Week 4

Florida State football picked up a much-needed 34-7 win over Central Arkansas on Saturday, while several former Seminoles were making an impact elsewhere across college football.

FSU experienced significant roster turnover during the offseason, with more than 30 players entering the transfer portal and a number of them landing at Power Four programs. Week 4 provided another opportunity to check in on some of the most notable departures from Tallahassee.

Here is how several former Florida State players performed with their new teams.

QB Brock Glenn, Western Kentucky

Glenn produced his best statistical performance of the young season in Western Kentucky’s 52-7 win over Mercyhurst.

The former FSU quarterback completed 4 of 6 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing five times for 50 yards and another score. One of his touchdown passes went for 72 yards, giving Glenn three total touchdowns despite working behind starter Rodney Tisdale Jr.

WR Lawayne McCoy, Louisville

McCoy continued his productive start with Louisville despite the Cardinals suffering a 30-27 upset loss to Wake Forest.

The former Seminoles receiver was targeted 11 times and finished with six receptions for 75 yards. Through four games, McCoy has 15 catches for 301 yards and three touchdowns, including at least 62 receiving yards in every appearance.

LB Justin Cryer, Texas

Cryer was one of Texas’ busiest defenders during the Longhorns’ 20-17 road win over Tennessee.

The former FSU linebacker finished with nine tackles, four solo and five assisted, and a pass breakup. His nine stops tied for the second-most on the Texas defense in the victory.

S Earl Little Jr., Ohio State

Little continued to see a significant role in Ohio State’s secondary during the Buckeyes’ 42-19 win over Illinois.

The former FSU defensive back recorded six tackles, including three solo stops. Little has now accumulated 23 tackles through Ohio State’s first four games.

EDGE Amaree Williams, Mississippi State

Williams followed up his SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week performance with another productive outing as Mississippi State defeated No. 19 Missouri 31-24.

The former Seminole recorded seven tackles and two pass breakups in the Bulldogs’ win. Williams had entered the matchup after a career-high 10 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack against South Carolina the previous week.

P Mac Chiumento, Texas

The former Florida State punter booted seven punts for 323 yards, averaging 46.1 yards per attempt with a long of 54. Two of his punts were downed inside the 20. Tennessee did return one of his punts 57 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
