Deion Sanders did not hold back after the Colorado Buffaloes’ offense produced another poor performance during its third straight loss.
The Buffaloes lost 29-7 to No. 12 Texas Tech on Saturday, falling to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in Big 12 play. Colorado has scored only 27 points across its three-game losing skid.
Asked about the offense’s recent struggles, Sanders delivered a blunt assessment.
“We’ve been horrible. Yeah, don’t sugarcoat it,” Sanders said.

The Buffaloes opened the season 2-0 before their offense collapsed over the past three games. They have been outscored 93-27 during the losing streak.
Colorado scored only seven points against Northwestern, 13 against Baylor and seven against Texas Tech.

The quarterback position has been a major storyline throughout the slide. Julian Lewis lost the starting job after struggling, while Utah transfer Isaac Wilson took over against Texas Tech.
Wilson threw for 290 yards but committed three interceptions. A fourth turnover came from wide receiver Joseph Williams on a trick play. Those mistakes helped Texas Tech take control after Colorado led 7-3 at halftime. The Buffaloes also committed eight penalties for 84 yards.
Sanders said the team cannot overlook those problems simply because it occasionally produces points.
“You can’t say, ‘Oh, we got some points,’” Sanders said. “You’re not gonna win. Not gonna win.”
From an offensive standpoint, the issue extends beyond quarterback play. Turnovers, penalties and inconsistent execution have repeatedly ended promising drives.

Colorado now enters its bye week with major questions to answer. The coaching staff must determine its quarterback plan while fixing an offense that has lost its rhythm.
“Don’t sugarcoat it no more,” Sanders said. “Just tell it what it is. You’re not gonna win.”
The Buffaloes return from the bye against Utah before facing Oklahoma State. Those games could determine whether Colorado can recover or continue sliding in conference play.
