Florida football returned to its winning ways on Saturday with the program's first-ever win in Austin — a 27-24 victory over the Texas Longhorns. It was also the Gators' first road win over a top-10 team since 2012.

Not a shabby way to climb back into national relevance.

After the dust settled on college football's Week 7 slate, The Athletic's Chris Vannini issued his latest re-ranking of all 138 FBS schools and promoted the Orange and Blue for its huge upset of Texas. After landing just outside the top 25 at No. 26 last week following an embarrassing homecoming loss to South Carolina, Florida is now ranked No. 16, putting Jon Sumrall and Co. between a pair of SEC brethren: No. 15 Missouri and No. 17 Texas.

The Gators also re-entered the top 25 in both major polls and are now ranked No. 24 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 20 in the AP Top 25.

With Florida's ascension, the Southeastern Conference now has 10 schools in the top 25 of The Athletic's re-rank, with Georgia leading the way at No. 4, followed by Ole Miss (No. 5) and Tennessee (No. 7) among the top 10. The remaining schools representing the league are Alabama (No. 11), Kentucky (No. 13), Missouri (No. 15), Florida (No. 16), Texas (No. 17), LSU (No. 24) and Mississippi State (No. 25); Auburn sits two spots out at No. 27.
