Did Indiana football go up -- or down -- in college polls after close win vs Northwestern?

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football dropped one spot to No. 5 in the latest US LMB Coaches Poll and one spot to No. 6 AP Poll.

The Hoosiers (4-0) remained undefeated with a 29-23 win over Northwestern on Friday night, but faced some tense moments down the stretch as they tried to close out the game. They still have the longest active win streak in the FBS (20) and home winning streak (19).

In the coaches poll, Indiana remained the top-ranked team in the Big Ten and received eight first place votes. Miami moved up to No. 4, but the top three remain unchanged. There are eight teams from the Big Ten now ranked in the top 25.

Ohio State jumped IU in the AP Poll and the Hoosiers received only one first-place vote.

The US LBM Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at Football Bowl Subdivision schools. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th.
