Arch Manning is the talk of college football, week in and week out, just like Shedeur Sanders was while playing for the Colorado Buffaloes. Both come from families with rich NFL legacies, and both have faced intense scrutiny. Sanders’ college football career is over; however, Manning still has a long way to go. Life would have been easier for Manning if Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns had a 6-1 or 7-0 record.
The Longhorns lost back-to-back SEC games against the Oklahoma Sooners and the Florida Gators. However, Texas did win their last game against the Ole Miss Rebels to improve to 5-2 overall. Manning was fairly impressive, as he completed 18 of 30 passes for 212 yards and one passing touchdown. He also rushed for two touchdowns. However, those two interceptions marred his performance.

But Manning showed that he can handle pressure and come up big in crunch situations against elite SEC opponents. At the same time, it’s also true that Sarkisian hasn’t been able to get the best version of Manning out on a weekly basis. This inconsistency has fueled transfer rumors surrounding the Texas quarterback.
While speaking with Bleacher Report, David Pollack further fueled Manning transfer rumors saying, “I had one person, a coach, a head coach in the SEC, tell me he’d be shocked if he didn’t end up at Georgia. Remember, he committed to Georgia.”
Amid all the transfer speculation, Manning has received a request from Chris Simms, urging him to stay at Texas. Speaking on Yahoo Sports Daily, Simms said, “Just Stay at Texas, all right? That’s what I want to say. I mean, of course, I’m biased there. I don’t know.”
“Just stay at Texas!” 😬@CSimmsQB believes Arch Manning still has much more room to improve before he should consider declaring for the NFL Draft.

“I mean, yeah, would a place like Ole Miss, because his uncle and his grandfather played there, and then Trinidad Chambliss, who’s going to come out in the draft certainly and be a high pick, will there be a spot there? But man, Texas has done everything that they possibly can to help Arch Manning,” he added.
Texas will face the Mississippi State Bulldogs in their week 9 clash on Saturday, as Manning will look to build on the Ole Miss win amid intensifying transfer rumors.
