Texas A&M enters Week 8 at 4-8 and 1-3 in SEC play, set to face No. 13 Alabama (5-2, 2-2 SEC) in Tuscaloosa for the first time since 2022. Since joining the SEC before the 2012 season, Alabama is 10-2 vs. Texas A&M, with the Aggies' two wins coming on the road in the magical 2012 season and in 2021, ending with kicker Randy Bond's game-winning field goal.

Alabama is on a two-game losing streak, while the Aggies' 41-0 shutout win over The Citadel didn't prove much to the fan base, especially starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who has thrown just one touchdown in SEC play, while A&M's offense failed to score a touchdown in road losses to LSU and Missouri.

This game could be decided before halftime, especially if the Aggies are dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball, as Wednesday and Thursday's injury report revealed that five key starters and reserves are listed as questionable with a 50% chance to play on Saturday, including junior wide receiver Mario Craver and defensive end Anto Saka.

If Craver can't go, senior transfer Isaiah Horton will need to step up, alongside sophomore TK Norman and freshman Aaron Gregory, who combined for 182 yards, while Gregory reeled in two touchdowns against The Citadel. On defense, if Anto Saka or defensive tackle DJ Hicks can't play, freshman edge rusher Tristian Givens and sophomore DL DJ Sanders should receive more playing time.

Either way, any chance the Aggies pull off the upset will take a team effort and elite coaching from Mike Elko, OC Holmon Wiggins, and DC Lyle Hemphill. For Alabama, five players are out, including star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams.
